A Letter in the Mail Today Too!

Dear Family,

How is everyone?  We're only supposed to write on our p-day, which is Wednesday, but my district has a service project every Wednesday, so they moved some of that time to Monday.  So I can write twice a week!  The Dear Elder site is really cool.  It usually only takes 1 day.  If you send it before 10:30 a.m. or so, I get it the same day!  I'm doing very well here.  I'm glad I have experience with getting up early!  I'm enjoying studying, and my Spanish is coming along.  I can pray and bear my testimony pretty well in Spanish, and I have already written a 5-minute talk in Spanish (we're required to write one each week, we get called up randomly each Sunday).

We do a temple walk each Sunday, which is pretty enjoyable.  I'll have to send some pictures.  Elder Yack leaves today so I got to see him before he left.  I'm getting along well with everyone in the zone as well!  So things are pretty good.  How's Frozevelt?  Hope it's warming up!  My Branch President actually lived in the Basin for about 30 years!  That is really cool about Stephanie's call!  She'll enjoy it here.

A couple of funny stories dad--they gave us Spanish scriptures AND the same water bottle you gave me, so I'll have to send some stuff back!  I haven't received any packages yet, but I got both your letters.  I'll write you guys as often as possible!  Love you all!

The First E-mail! He's Alive!

Hey!  I managed to get my email set up, but it ate up about 20 minutes of my time!!!  So I'm glad to be able to finally get a hold of you guys!  MTC life is alright, we study hard, but it's usually pretty pleasant.  I'm still overcoming the anger I experienced when my account wouldn't let me in!  How is Roosevelt?  So I take it soccer has started, and pizza night has gone downhill?  haha.  I really appreciate all the letters, and hope you guys keep sending them!  My companion's name is Elder Hendrickson, from Illinois.  We have another companionship with us.  Elder Te'o is from Hawaii, and Elder Rood is from Oregon.  They're all good, and I've been getting along with them.  We're having our "p-day" today so I'm emailing you as fast as I can!  It's more like a casual friday or something like that.  We don't really get a lot of extra time, but we do get to write.  I have a good branch presidency, and my branch president even lived in the basin for 30 years or so!  His name is President Greenwood.  My district is the smallest one that I know of, there are only six of us.  We have four elders and two hermanas (sisters).   My companion is going to quito, as well as one of the sisters.  My zone has some good people in it, so no worries there.  We got to go up to the temple today and do a session.  I ran into some guy named Brother Bradley or something like that.  He gave me a big long string of advice which was actually really good!  He said to pray for the other missionaries I know individually, and to do the same for a ward if I ever give a talk.  Good guy.   I'm adjusting well and I don't think I should have any problems.  We're already praying, bearing our testimonies, and contacting in spanish!  Oh and Aaron, I have a great Bible story for you!  go to 2 Kings 2: 23-24.  I think that's the one.  It's about Elisha.  It's pretty good!  I dare you to share it in seminary!   I'll tell you more next week, because I'll be able to get onto my email the first time!  sheesh.  well that's all for now!  Don't forget to write!    - Spencer

MTC Mailing Address

I just received Spencer's mailing address for the MTC.  I have posted it on the side for future reference.  A great way to write him is through using www.dearelder.com   You can type him a letter and they print it out and deliver it to him at noon after you write it.  It is FREE and easy, so WRITE!

The Gospel's True, See You In Two!

He's in the Missionary Training Center for the next two months...learning to teach the gospel and to habla espanol!

Officially Elder Wallace

This morning Elder Wallace was set apart as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by President Brad LeBaron, his dad and his Grandpa Dana.  It was wonderful to listen to the counsel and blessings given by President LeBaron about how Elder Wallace will bring hope to those he encounters in Ecuador.  He also blessed him with the gift of tongues to learn the language and the gift of discernment...even in choosing what to eat.

Today was the last time Elder Wallace will speak in Cove Ward for the next two years!  3 days til he enters the MTC!
